Fetchly helps you arrange pet care with people you trust — your own circle of friends, family and neighbors. It is run by DesignKey (“we”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email developer@designkey.us.
The short version
- We only collect what Fetchly needs to work.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
- Your pets’ care details are shared only with people you invite to your circle.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from the app at any time.
What we collect
Account: your email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), your first name, and whether you own pets, help with pets, or both.
Profile (optional): a profile photo, phone number and address.
Your pets: name, species, breed, birth month, photos, and the care card you write — for example allergies, quirks, care instructions, vet and emergency contacts, and a handoff checklist.
Your circle and plans: the names you give people you invite, invite links, care requests (what, when and notes), who said yes or no and any reason given, plan changes and cancellations, your availability, and the photos and notes helpers share during care.
Settings: notification and location-sharing preferences. Fetchly does not collect your device’s location.
Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, your email address and whether you joined through a friend’s invite link.
Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and standard server logs kept by our hosting providers (such as IP address, browser or device type, and the time of a request) for security and to keep the service running. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
To run Fetchly: create and secure your account, show your pets’ profiles to your circle, send care requests to your circle, keep plans and the care log up to date, send you in-app notifications and account emails (such as confirming your email or resetting your password), and answer your support requests. We use it on the basis of providing the service you asked for and, for security logs, our legitimate interest in keeping Fetchly safe.
Who can see what
- Your circle (people you invited, and owners whose circle you joined) can see your name and photo, and the profiles and care cards of the pets in that circle.
- The helper on a plan and the pet’s owner can see that plan’s checklist, photos and care updates.
- Only you can see your phone number, address, email and settings.
- We don’t share your information with anyone else, except the service providers below, or if the law requires it.
Service providers
We use a few companies to host and run Fetchly, under agreements that let them use your data only to provide their service to us: Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage), Vercel (hosting the app) and Resend (sending emails). Their servers are in the United States, so your data may be processed there.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account, your profile, pets, photos, circle, plans and care log are deleted straight away; copies in our providers’ backups are removed when those backups expire, usually within 30 days. Plans you were helping with go back to the owner’s circle without your details.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your details in the app: Profile → Personal info, your pets, and Settings.
- Delete your account in the app: Profile → your name → Personal info → Delete account.
- Turn off any kind of notification in Profile → Notifications.
- Get a copy of your data, or ask us anything about it, by emailing developer@designkey.us.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict how we use your data, or to complain to your local data protection authority. Email us and we’ll help.
Children
Fetchly is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access is limited by account: the database itself only lets you, and the people you share with, read your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
